My Japanese grandma is adorable.

I received a letter from my japanese grandma today which lead to lots of tears.
She's already asleep which is good because I would have been crying in front of her big time.

I'm going to miss my baachan. But I know I will have the chance to see her even after I'm married :)

Just living my daily routine.

I want to see his face. I want to hear is voice. and I want to get MARRIED. now.

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

March 11th, 2011
The day the earthquake hit Tohoku, Japan

To tell you the truth, when I first got the message from Marissa I simply shrugged thinking "we always have earthquakes in japan". And then I reread it, and it said "magnitude 9.0".

My parents were in Japan at that time while I was in Hawaii at school.
I was in a group meeting with my edu 312 classmates, planning our lesson. After I received that message I couldn't really pay attention.

My focus was on the 'rents.
I got a message from my dad that they were ok, and that I needed to go to high-ground because there might be a tsunami in Hawaii.

Remember the "tsunami" last year?
it was smaller than a surfable wave.
That's exactly how it was this year on our part of the island.
But, Japan had a tsunami that nearly wiped out 20,000 people.
People are still being found today (only their skeletons).
They say that the houses with crows flying in circles around them have rotten bodies...
(amazed at how much is destroyed)
yes, that is a house completely on it's side. can you believe it?

I went up to Furukawa with the Mormon Helping Hands to see if I can do ANYTHING to help.
It turns out, they were desperate for volunteers.
THE
BEST
EXPERIENCE
OF
MY
LIFE.
It hurt my heart to see all of Ishinomaki city completely destroyed.
We tore down a house that was already ruined.
It needed to be done so they can rebuild it.
A 4 million dollar house.
wow.

I stayed with the sweetest family in Furukawa.
The dad is the branch president, and had lost their home.
All they dug out from the house were a couple of files
and a big teddy bear.
Since they had no home, they stayed at the missionaries apartments.
He told me that because they had nothing,
whenever they had found something they would feel so blessed.
The Lord works in mysterious ways.
The branch president told me of what happened to them on March 10th and 11th
The day before the earthquake, he filled his car with gas--100%
He told me he usually NEVER does that.
His wife went to the bank and pulled out extra money.
She told me she usually never does that either.
The next day, the earthquake happened. they were both at work, and met up after it happened.
There was a tsunami warning.
But it wasnt for another couple of hours
so they thought it would be safe to go home and pick up a few things.
They were on their way home when they saw, with their own eyes the tsunami coming in.
They went right around and sped as fast as they can to anywhere far from the ocean.
They told me people say it was by consequence that they got extra money out, and filled up the tank with gas.
But we know that the Lord had helped them.

Presentations, lectures, studying...things I shouldn't be doing during summer break

I am a currently an intern at a Human Resources company called "Adecco". During the past couple of weeks I have switched "bushyo" and I don't know how to say that in english, but I guess it would be sections of the company--simply said.
I spent a week with jinji-which is human resources, koubai-which is procurement, and I forgot the name of the very first one...haha. I am such a horrible intern.

But seriously do I really have to make presentations...? siigh. It's so stressful because I have to present in front of the managers/bosses. and in Japanese.

Well good thing this week I don't have aaaaannyyy presentations! yay!
so happy!

I've been kind of down lately though because I don't have David around...it is definitely harder than I thought it would be. I miss him so much. He gave me his cologne and I spray it on my pillow every night before I sleep so I can smell him (yes, I guess that could be considered a bit creepy. BUT I MISS HIM).

So what else have I been doing with my life?
May Wildman, my bestest friend in the whole world is in Japan and we have been partying it upppp (kinda not really) but we went to her sister's graduation on Saturday which was kinda boring...but good food in the end. PLUS it is really probably the last time I will go to ASIJ ever. David said I was being dramatic (fb post), but I spent most of my life going to that school, everyday, all day, and it feels like a part of me.

I'm so excited to go out with maymay tomorrow. We are having our traditional wednesday night dinner! And we've actually got it planned this time, a SPAIN-ISH restaurant. I should brush up on my spanish so I can be super professional espanish speaker to the Japanese servers...hah

Another piece of awesome information: I am working out everyday, and did 40 pushups today! It's a huge improvement from the first day I worked out this summer (aka 3 pushups)
I feel strong!

made a banana honey lemon facial mask today. It smelt pretty good, but I don't think it worked, in fact I think my face has more red spots on it now. siigh. nothing works.
If anyone knows ANYTHING to help cure pimples/a gross face. por favor. let me know.
Also let me know what I should learn on my ukulele. I play the same songs over and over and it's starting to get old.

Updates on the wedding prep:
I've got my beeeauuuuutiful dress.
We almost have the invites ready
We pretty much don't have anything set in stone, but we will by the end of this week/next week (hopefully if people email us back)
IT IS SO HARD TO CONTACT PEOPLE OVERSEAS.

I've got lots of cute decoration ideas and I'm sooooo excited to try them once I get to California. Which is hopefully July 25th (or 23rd/24th)
My knees hurt from running.
I'm literally writing everything that is crossing my mind.

The photo loader is not working.
waaaahh. i will put pics up later.
